Building Core Adult Capabilities

Maryland’s Family Support Centers are two-generational programs that work with both parents and their very young children at the same time, in the same location.  A recent report by the Center for the Developing Child at Harvard describes the research and findings behind the lessons we’ve learned about how best to support adults as they work or study while caring for an infant or toddler.

I note with interest that many national, private funders that are closely associated with early care and education issues have paid for this report.  They are:  The Annie E. Casey Foundation, Bezos Family Foundation, Buffett Early Childhood Fund, Doris Duke Charitable Foundation, The Alliance for Early Success, and the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation.
