Parking
Leave enough time to Park! Finding parking in Annapolis can be difficult. The easiest place to park is at the Navy Football Stadium parking lot on Taylor Avenue at Rowe Boulevard. From US 50 take the Rowe Blvd. exit. You will see the Stadium on your right. Make a right turn on to Taylor Ave. and make the fourth right turn into the Gate 5 parking lot. It costs $5 to park. Here’s a link to a map of the parking lot: http://www.pinnacleparking.com/stadium_map.htm.
From there you’ll take the State Shuttle to Lawyers Mall and the Legislative Services Building. The State Shuttle IS NO LONGER FREE. Each individual must pay $1.50. If you have a large group, you may want to have them dropped off at Legislative Hall and then one or two people park and take the shuttle back. The Shuttle Trolley makes a continuous loop between Navy Stadium and the legislative buildings until 10:00 p.m. You can find more information about the shuttle on the City of Annapolis website: http://www.annapolis.gov/government/departments/transportation/shuttleservice.aspx.
If you are not sure where you are going, ask the shuttle driver to drop you off at "Lawyers Mall" of the "Legislative Services Building". When you get off the Shuttle, if you stand in Lawyers Mall and face the Capitol building, Legislative Services is the building on your left. Here’s a link to a map showing the building: http://dls.state.md.us/data/tabs/vis/Visit-Us-MapOfAnnapolis.pdf.
Security
Bring Your ID! Security requires anyone entering State buildings to have ID. Anyone who wants to go into the State House, the House and Senate office buildings, or the Legislative Services building (to pick up your box dinner) must show a photo ID and go through the metal detector, so please be sure to bring your ID.
The Evening for Children’s Advocacy in Annapolis is sponsored by Maryland Family Network, the Maryland State Family Child Care Association, the Maryland State Child Care Association, the Maryland Association for the Education of Young Children, the Maryland School Age Child Care Alliance and the Maryland Head Start Association.s
