Many of us are concerned by the high expulsion rate of children in early care and education settings. This phenomenon was painfully highlighted recently in a New York Times editorial, and, I sadly fear, many of us are as guilty as the pre-K teachers who probably couldn’t control what their eyes were watching. It’s so ingrained, so subconscious, this bias. And it is frightening, that we’re looking for problems where none exists.
