On September 15th, Maryland Family Network held our 11th Annual Sandra J. Skolnik Lecture on Early Childhood Education & Advocacy with over 225 professionals, students, elected officials, and others in attendance. This year's speaker was Dr. Dipesh Navsaria.

With graduate degrees in public health, children’s librarianship, physician assistant studies, and medicine, Dr. Navsaria brought a unique combination of interests and experience together for the lecture. He talked about his involvement with early literacy programs in health care settings and discussed early brain and child development as well as how adversity and poverty can negatively impact that development. He also took questions from the audience.
