
Position Title: Director of Human Resources
FLSA Classification: Full-time, Exempt
Reports to: Chief of Staff
Location: Baltimore, Maryland
Maryland Family Network (MFN) is seeking a dynamic Director of Human Resources (HR) to administer and manage the employment services and needs of the organization, and is responsible for providing support to MFN supervisors with oversight and management of personnel policies and procedures. The Director of HR carries out responsibilities in the following functional areas: benefits, compensation, employee relations, employment policies/procedures, and organizational development. The ideal candidate for this role should possess a high work ethic, excellent communication skills, knowledge of labor regulations and HR practices, strategic thinking abilities, and excellent interpersonal skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
Minimum qualifications include:
- Bachelor’s degree in human resources management, business administration, or related field; SHRM certification a plus.
- 5 years of progressively responsible human resources management experience, including payroll processing, preferably in a non-profit setting.
- Working understanding of human resources principles in a nonprofit context.
- Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines, handle and prioritize simultaneous requests, and manage laterally and upwards.
- Good judgment and the ability to work independently and be self-motivated with minimum supervision.
- Strong and proactive oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to function in a fast-paced environment including periods of ambiguity.
- Strong computer skills and familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, Teams), and database management.
- Experience participating in and facilitating meetings using video conferencing platforms.
- Experience with Paychex Flex and Time and Attendance or a similar HRIS / payroll system required.
- Valid driver’s license and access to reliable transportation to travel within the state of Maryland for participation in human resources and/or MFN related trainings and events.
