As a member of the Steering Committee, you will play a critical role in shaping the statewide plan and policy agenda for Families Leading Maryland and help articulate a vision for Maryland’s early childhood system. In addition to attending meetings, Steering Committee members are expected to contribute to discussions, planning, and engagement activities. The Steering Committee will meet on the following schedule:
2025 Schedule
- August: One-hour virtual orientation.
- September: One-day, in-person Saturday session.
- October - November: Two-hour monthly virtual meetings and at least one local/regional in-person community meeting per region. Working groups will meet bi-weekly.
- Early December: One-day, in-person Saturday session to finalize vision and legislative agenda.
2026 Schedule
- January: Two-hour monthly virtual meeting and working group meetings (bi-weekly).
- February: One-day, in-person legislative advocacy event or planning retreat.
- March: Two-hour monthly virtual meeting and working group meetings (bi-weekly).
- April: Two-hour monthly virtual meeting.
- May: Year-end in-person celebration on a Saturday.
