Meet Our New COO -- Tiera Chin

MFN's Chief Operating Officer Tierra Chin.

Today we're turning the blog over to MFN's new Chief Operating Officer Tiera Chin so you can get to know her. Welcome Tiera!

Hello! My name is Tiera Chin, and I am excited to join Maryland Family Network as its new Chief Operating Officer (COO). As a former educator, I am excited to work directly with an organization that supports Maryland’s earliest learners and their families. As a mom to two young children, I understand the importance of early childhood education, and am proud to be part of a team that works every day to ensure a quality education is accessible statewide.

As for my background, prior to MFN I worked in healthcare as a Regional Operations Director where I managed a region of outpatient clinics while promoting quality care, a culture of belonging, and operational success. I previously worked in education as a director where I provided consulting services to school districts, universities, and nonprofit organizations across the country. One of my proudest career moments is working as a 6th grade math teacher with Teach for America in Baltimore. I studied business management and Spanish at Hampton University and earned an MBA from Harvard Business School. I am a Maryland native and live in Baltimore with my husband and two daughters who are 3 and 5 years old.

As COO at MFN, my role is to ensure that our internal operations run efficiently so that we maximize our impact with the dollars we spend. It is also to work with the executive team to create a culture of satisfaction and belonging. Additionally, I want to make sure our donors, grant recipients, and partners all have positive interactions with MFN. I look forward to meeting everyone at MFN and thank the team for the warm welcome I have received! If there is anything I can do to make your experience with MFN better, please let me know. I would love to hear from you!
