Position Title: Statewide Director, Strong Families
FLSA Classification: Full-time, Exempt

Maryland Family Network (MFN) is seeking an experienced Statewide Director -Strong Families to manage the vision and oversight of efforts funded by the US Dept of Health and Human Services (Administration of Children & Families) through the Child Abuse Prevention and Treatment Act (CAPTA), specifically the statewide coordination of Community Based Child Abuse Prevention (CBCAP) work. The funds are designated to support community-based efforts and activities to prevent child abuse and neglect and to support the coordination of resources and activities to better strengthen and support families to reduce the likelihood of child abuse and neglect. The Director will develop an implantation framework for grant making and grants management activities as well as ensure different departmental child abuse prevention efforts are aligned and impactful. For MFN CBCAP grantees, this person will, in consultation with the Chief Program Officer, provide oversight of integrated efforts to develop, operate, expand and enhance current and existing programs and initiatives. This person will also oversee the agency’s Strengthening Families (SF) efforts and ensure complete intersection of the SF and CBCAP work.

Minimum qualifications include:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Social Work or Human Services required. Master’s degree preferred.
  • 5-7 years of related and progressively responsible work experience in human services, family support, child welfare or a related field.
  • 2 years of program management and/or supervisory experience in social work or human services.
  • 2 years of a combination of grant writing and/or grants management experience.
  • Experience in the development of and oversight of requests for proposal (RFP) processes.
  • Knowledge of the philosophy and principles of Trauma Informed practices.
  • Proven skill and experience in program development.
  • Experience in working with culturally diverse communities and families with the ability to be culturally sensitive and appropriate.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills and strong interpersonal skills with the ability to engage with and facilitate learning and discussion among highly accomplished professionals.
  • Robust organizational skills and a demonstrated ability to multi-task.
  • Strong computer skills and familiarity with Microsoft Office.
  • Valid driver’s license with access to reliable transportation.
