MFN Announces RFP For Family Support Centers Maryland Family Network, the state-wide intermediary overseeing the network of Family Support Centers, is pleased to announce that we have issued a Request for Proposal (RFP) for Maryland agencies and organizations to operate/establish a Family Support Center in a Maryland community or region. Centers serve families with children birth through age three and/or expectant parents. MFN anticipates awarding multiple grants to support both the planning and full operations of these new Family Support Centers. RFP for Child Care Resource Center Announced Maryland Family Network has announced a Request for Proposals to operate a Child Care Resource Center. Maryland’s regional Child Care Resource Centers (CCRCs) make up the Maryland Child Care Resource Network (MCCRN), which provides leadership, training and other services to improve the quality, availability, and affordability of child care in communities across the state. Coaching & Mentoring Thoughtful coaching and mentoring approaches contribute to the quality and effectiveness of early childhood programs. Each webinar in the series provide participants with practical information, strategies, and tactics to use in their child care program. In addition to increasing your professional skill set, successful participants will also receive 45 Core of Knowledge Hours to be used for the Maryland Administrators’ Child Care Credential, and the level 4 requirement for training with that credential. MFN Launches Program to Provide Free Support to Diverse Set of Child Care Providers Maryland Family Network today announced the launch of “Maryland Child Care Boost,” a pilot program that will equip select family child care providers with free tools to help them remain fully enrolled, financially sound, and focused on the high-quality care and education of our youngest learners. Caring in a Time of Pandemic The report details the data gleaned from child care providers across the state via a survey conducted in January. The providers report that since March of 2020, their monthly expenses have increased on average $5,339 per location as a result of needing to purchase essential PPEs and other COVID related health and safety expenses.
